On global hypoellipticity.

Abstract: Global properties of differential (or pseudodifferential) operators acting on sections of a vector bundle over a manifold, such as ellipticity or hypoellipticity, have topological consequences on the objects involved. In the talk I will describe some of these consequences, first under the assumption of ellipticity, then assuming hypoellipticty. The talk is based on joint work done with H. Jacobowitz and joint work in progress with A. Bergamasco and S. Zani.

We meet weekly on Friday afternoons at Penn State Altoona (and sometimes at Penn State University Park). If you are interested in giving a talk in our seminar please contact one of the coordinators for the Spring 2009 semester: Wojtek Dorabiala and Aissa Wade.
