Categories of Orbifolds II.

Abstract: We consider four notions, (two of which are new), of a map from a smooth, closed, orbifold to a second orbifold. Depending on which definition of orbifold map is used the space of such maps can be either a manifold, a stratified space with manifold strata, an orbifold or a stratified space with orbifold strata - where the model vector spaces are Banach spaces in the case of finite smoothness or are Frechet spaces in the infinitely differentiable case. Furthermore, we give the explicit relationship between these notions of orbifold map, and apply our results to the special case where the maps under consideration are orbifold diffeomorphisms.

We meet weekly on Friday afternoons at Penn State Altoona (and sometimes at Penn State University Park). If you are interested in giving a talk in our seminar please contact one of the coordinators for the Spring 2009 semester: Wojtek Dorabiala and Aissa Wade.
