The K-theory of Symplectic Orbifolds.

Abstract: I will discuss symplectic techniques that can be used to compute stringy invariants of orbifolds. The main examples include symplectic toric orbifolds, where we will see that the orbifold K-theory is torsion free. This talk is based on joint works with Goldin, Harada, Kimura, and Knutson.

We meet weekly on Thursday afternoons, alternating between Penn State Altoona and Penn State University Park. If you are interested in giving a talk in our seminar please contact one of the coordinators for the Fall 2008 semester: Wojtek Dorabiala and Aissa Wade.
