Toward the Andre-Quillen cohomology of diagrams

Abstract: The goal of this joint project with David Blanc (U. Haifa) and James Turner (Calvin College) is to build a spectral sequence which allows us to determine certain obstructions in the Andre-Quillen cohomology of a diagram of spaces. We would like the input to be the Andre-Quillen cohomology of subdiagrams, allowing some reductive procedure involving the cohomology of the individual spaces and some induced relations dependent on the shape of the diagram. To date, we understand the tree-like case as well as several small sorts of diagrams and there may be combinatorial or graph-theoretic conditions lurking in more complicated examples. This is a preliminary report of work in progress, which will start by defining the relevant terms and then try to clarify the situation in the known cases.

We meet weekly on Thursday afternoons, with the third meeting of each month in Altoona. If you are interested in giving a talk in our seminar please contact one of the coordinators for the Fall 2005 semester: Aissa Wade and Wojciech Dorabiala.
