Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics
Systems Analysis Option
This degree program focuses on mathematics that can be applied to problems in business,
economics, and other social sciences. The primary areas of mathematics for this program
are matrix theory, linear programming, and statistics. An approved sequence of 12
credits is required in an area of application outside of mathematics.

orientation only.

Number of credits required for the degree:
For the B.S. degree in Mathematics, a minimum of 120 credits is required.
General Education:
45 credits (6-12 of these 45 credits are included in the requirements for the major).

Entrance to major: In order to be eligible for entrance to the Mathematics major, a student must have:

80-90 credits (This includes 6-12 credits of General Education courses:
6 credits of GQ courses.)
Grade Requirements:
If a course is marked with [1], then a student enrolled in this major must receive a
grade of C or better in it, as specified in Senate Policy 82-44.
